At a recent wedding fair I met a lovely lady from Gracie Browne Designs, who was nice enough to give me one of her cake toppers that she laser cuts herself. She also makes bespoke wedding invitations and other laser cut designs.
I wanted to make a new display cake, so this was perfect timing and prompted me to get cracking.
The cake topper is really light but it didn't feel like I would break it when I pushed it into the cake.
At the wedding fair, Gracie and I were discussing the issue of food safety, and not being able to insert the topper directly into the cake. I was thinking I'd need a posy pick, or work out some way of attaching the topper without stabbing it into the cake. Then I stumbled across a new product called Safety Seal by Ingenious Edibles, which looks like it could be a great solution for this sort of situation.
